Awesome lesson book
My 9 year old has some trouble with reading and vocabulary. She hates when she doesn’t understand things and wants to give up easy. I personally am not a fan of doing work or homework, but this is great and we have a lot of fun with it and so easy to understand and explain… We do 1 lesson a day and my kid loves it!

Well Thought Out
This is a fantastic resource for building vocabulary. The author went to great lengths to first define the words before giving a practice page. On the top of the practice page he first poses a question. Coinciding with each question’s number are lines at the bottom of the page to place the numbers letter choice on (multiple choice). The child then reads the answer to the question posed at the beginning. Very interesting. As a teacher I would say end of third grade to fourth grade level. Can be used for average to above average students.

2nd grader loves it
My homeschooler enjoys the puzzles in here and gives us some test prep practice skills. Of the 10 words on each list he usually knows 8, as a general idea of one, and one new to him word. I’d say it’s closer to the 3rd grade level than 5th. Great deal for the price.

Perfect
Our curriculum did not have solid vocabulary, none in language and none with spelling. So we decided to try this. It’s broken down into categories, so they’re learning meanings of words alongside synonyms, antonyms etc. Each lesson takes about ten minutes.

語彙学習に活用できる!
高校生向の語彙学習で使える洋書テキストを探していてこちらにたどり着きました!教材の量、扱っている語彙の難易度、ワークのデザイン全てにおいて満足です。語彙学習というと英語⇔日本語の単語帳がメインの生徒たちでしたが、初の英単語を英語で説明してある教材にモチベーションが上がっているようで購入して良かったです!レベルは英検2級~その少し上くらいかなと個人的には思いました。

Good for building kids’ vocabulary
It’s good but some exercises are about USA history which I don’t care for as that’s not where I am. Ideally the excercises would be country agnostic. We also use the words for spelling practice.

Very good vocabulary book
Happily finished this vocabulary book for grades 3-5. ?Some fun facts:- Start date: Aug 16- End date: Oct 10- Total number of lessons: 45- New words learned: ~700- Hours spent: ~110- Tools used: Anki, vocabulary dot comIt has taken more time than I anticipated, but it feels good to finish something. More importantly, I’ve learned more than just the words! For example, I also learned some fun facts, culture, and interesting things from the book.I can really recommend it.Looking forward to the vocabulary book for grades 6-8.?

USA based lesson plan
Good information but the lessons are distinctly American, referring to American history and geography in the first lesson. This wasn’t mentioned in the description and as a Canadian knowing the date of the American revolution is no where near a priority for my child. As for the war of 1812 . . .

価値ある一冊です
価値ある一冊です!他言語学習法を研究している自分にとっても有益な良書だと思います。基礎語を確実にモノにした後の語彙量を拡張したい方にお勧め!単語を覚える前にまず英語の「造語方法」を理解した方が効率倍増になるはず。この本は「造語方法」が理解出来る本です。

Self-checking and interesting
‘So easy that my kids do their lessons without needing my help. Each lesson opens with vocabulary and definitions, then goes into questions, and it’s self-checking. The questions are lettered and the letters fill in the blanks to answer a trivia question.

Kid-approved
The first vocab workbook my kids ASK to do extra pages. They love solving the “code” and figuring out the secret answer on every page. We have the vocab and the grammar book and the kids like them both.

I like the vocabulary diversity in these books. Negative , pages are thin. Nice resource. Peek in the book, look inside, before buying to see if right for you.

Not for teachers with limited copy counts
This reproducible book spreads each worksheet across multiple pages. Tons of wasted space in layout and margins. I also was not impressed with the content.

Too easy!
My son is in 3rd grade so I thought this would be a great book to learn and study from. Nope! It is too easy. I went through the words and he knows 90% of them already. I find it hard to believe that this is for 3rd to 5th grade!

Words are too basic
If your child reads a lot (like my son, who just finished 3rd grade), s/he will find very few of these words to be challenging.

Grade Level Off
The format of this book is engaging, however, the material is not at the fourth grade level. My 9 year old was not challenged in the least.

WAY too easy for a third grader
Even the words on the cover of the 6-8 grade books were too easy. The third edition – out on May 2022 – looks better (for a third grader): McGraw-Hill Vocabulary Grades 6-8, THIRD Edition
